Despite the challenging circumstances, Sophie appeared to be in good spirits following her first mediation session with her estranged husband, Joe Jonas, aged 34.
As for Joe, the “Rollercoaster” singer left the mediation two hours after Sophie, as reported by Daily Mail. He purportedly attempted to discreetly exit the building through a service driveway and subsequently entered the back of a black SUV before being driven away. The former couple, who are parents to two daughters, 3-year-old Willa and 1-year-old Delphine, has chosen to engage in mediation to address their divorce and custody-related disagreements.
Joe filed for divorce from Sophie on September 5, marking the end of their four-year marriage. In his filing, he requested joint custody of their children. Later that month, Sophie initiated legal action against the Jonas Brothers singer, alleging that he was withholding their daughters’ passports, preventing her from taking them to the U.K. She claimed that the couple had previously agreed to make England their family’s “forever home” before their separation.
In response to Sophie’s lawsuit, Joe’s representative issued an official statement to HollywoodLife. The statement clarified that Sophie was aware of Joe’s intention to file for divorce and highlighted that a Florida court had already issued an order restricting both parents from relocating the children. Sophie’s team reportedly urged the judge to expedite the trial, citing her upcoming work project in England starting in January.
