American Embassy in Sarajevo – We are shocked and appalled by the incendiary statements of Bakir Izetbegovic

A genuine commitment to cooperation and compromise, rather than the implicit threat of resorting to violence, is needed to solve this country’s worsening problems, they said.

The US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina made an announcement regarding yesterday’s statements by SDA President Bakir Izetbegovic.

    • We are shocked and appalled by Bakir Izetbegovic’s incendiary comments yesterday, which predictably called for Milorad Dodik’s irresponsible response. 30 years ago, the citizens of this country lived through a brutal war.

In 2022, they deserve better than leaders who appeal to ethnic divisions and fuel ethnic tensions. The citizens of BiH deserve leaders who will work for the common good and make difficult decisions necessary for BiH to secure its place in the Euro-Atlantic community of nations.

A true commitment to cooperation and compromise, rather than the implicit threat of resorting to violence, is needed to solve this country’s problems, which are getting worse – according to the US Embassy.

Let us remind you that Izetbegovic also spoke about military strength at the SDA meeting in Hadzici last night.

    • We counted ourselves – and how many hunters we have, and how many young people, how many drone instructors we have, and so on. I won’t go further, but just so you know – Izetbegovic was brief, talking about the case of the “worst case scenario”.
