To expel the incompetent artistic director – the Moscow Art Theater reacted to Doronina’s letter to Putin

The appeal of the people’s artist followed immediately after the scandalous premiere – the play “The Wonderful Georgian” about the young Stalin, where Olga Buzova played

The secretary of the Moscow Art Academic Theater (MKHAT) named after Gorky Victoria Musina-Pushkina commented on the information about the letter allegedly written by the president of the theater Tatyana Doronina to the Russian leader Vladimir Putin. In it, the People’s Artist of the USSR demands the dismissal of the current artistic director of the theater – Eduard Boyakov.

“It is strange for us to read such statements of Tatyana Vasilievna about the theater, of which she is the president, in public space. We do not know who and what is telling the actress, ”Musina-Pushkina wrote on her Facebook page. She also noted that the Moscow Art Theater does not exclude that the 87-year-old artist “in her very selfish interests” is used by a certain circle of people.

The secretary noted that the theater had not seen Doronina’s letter and did not know whether it was really sent to Putin; there are suggestions that it was written primarily for distribution in the media. “Otherwise, Tatyana Vasilievna would have come to the theater long ago, which lives in the incredible rhythm of premieres, tours, events, and events, and would have taken up her duties long ago,” Musina-Pushkina emphasized, adding that Doronina has not appeared at the Moscow Art Theater for a long time and have not seen a single premiere lately.

Earlier it became known that Doronina, in her address to Putin, demanded to “expel” the current artistic director, whom she called “mediocre”, and other “hucksters” from the Moscow Art Theater. The artist said that under the current management of the theater “everything will be swallowed up by a hooligan, perverted vulgar entertainment variety and circus show.” Under Boyakov, according to her, the theater’s repertoire was “almost destroyed”, and talented actors were “expelled”.
