182 charging stations will be taken into use at ON in February. The parking lots, which are located at 32 locations in Reykjavik and four locations in Gardaer, are for two to six electric cars in charge.
The charges will be placed in collaboration with the two municipalities in the public car parks owned by them; at schools, shops, swimming pools, and cultural institutions.
“With this infrastructure development, a major step is being taken to strengthen energy exchange and meet the needs of all-electric car owners, including individuals, companies, and institutions,” says the announcement.
To be able to take advantage of the charges, electric car owners must have an ON key. About half of the charging stations have already been set up and installation of all locations is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
