Inflation now measures 6.5%, while the consumer price index in February rose by 1.16% month-on-month and now stands at 523.9 points. The CPI less housing cost rose by 1.26% month-on-month to 440.3 points, from a twelve-month increase of 4.2%.
An announcement from Statistics Iceland states that the price of furniture, household equipment, etc. increased by 7.5% (effect on the index 0.47%), cost of living in own housing (calculated rent) increased by 1.2% (0.22%), food and beverage prices increased by 0.8% (0.11%) and petrol and oils rose by 3.6% (0.11%). International airfares decreased by 9.7% (-0.14%).
