James Dyson sells his Singapore penthouse at loss

The wealthy British and inventor James Dyson has sold his penthouse in Singapore. He bought the apartment a year ago for 54 million US dollars, which is equivalent to 7.5 billion. The apartment is in the tallest building in the city and has a roof terrace, a private pool, and a hot tub.

Dyson bought the apartment at about the same time as it was announced that the headquarters of the company of his electrical good would be relocated to Singapore from England. According to Dyson’s spokesman, an offer for the apartment has been accepted, but he did not want to say what he got for it. Dyson paid the highest price ever for an apartment in Singapore when he bought it a year ago.

The apartment, which is on three floors, includes wine storage for 600 bottles.

According to the Business Times in Singapore, Dyson appears to have lost significantly in sales. A US businessman has bought the apartment for 45 million US dollars, 6.3 billion ISK.

Despite selling the apartment, Dyson is determined to continue building his company in Singapore, but he is best known for his design of bagless vacuum cleaners. When he moved the company’s headquarters to Singapore, it provoked great anger in his home country, as Dyson was an ardent supporter of Brexit.

The apartment is in the Guoco Tower, which is in the business district of the city. The tower is 64 floors and the view of the city is magnificent. Dyson is not homeless after the sale because he recently bought a house in the city for 33 million US dollars, 4.6 billion ISK, which is directly opposite the city’s botanical garden which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
