    Super Rumble, a Free-for-All Shooter Game, Introduced in Early Access on Horizon Worlds

    Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has initiated the early access release of Horizon Worlds on mobile devices and web browsers. This expansion includes the introduction of a free-for-all shooter game named Super Rumble, where two to six players can engage in fast-paced shooting matches within the metaverse.

    Please note that the initial early access phase is limited to a select group of users. Meta plans to gradually expand access to more individuals and intends to incorporate additional experiences and worlds into the metaverse in the near future.

    Bitcoin Ordinals Creator Proposes Changes to Bitcoin NFT Numbering System

    Casey Rodarmor, the chief coder and creator of Bitcoin Ordinals, has proposed altering the numbering system of Bitcoin NFTs. Rodarmor has highlighted concerns regarding the current system, which has resulted in what he describes as “ugly code” and hindered development progress.

    In response, Rodarmor has introduced a proposal to make inscriptions within the numbering system permanently unstable. This change is intended to simplify the protocol and facilitate easier upgrades. Importantly, this adjustment may impact the accuracy of numbers but does not entail the complete abandonment of the numbering system.

    Magic Eden Integrates Solana’s Compressed NFTs into Its Marketplace

    Magic Eden, an NFT marketplace, has seamlessly integrated compressed NFTs (cNFTs) based on the Solana blockchain into its platform. cNFTs differ from conventional NFTs as they store their data off-chain. This innovation allows users to mint up to one million NFTs at a relatively low cost, making them particularly suitable for mass-produced NFTs in industries such as music, gaming, and events.

    Atari Founder Criticizes Play-to-Earn Games in Crypto

    Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari, a renowned video game company from the 1980s, recently expressed his views on play-to-earn (P2E) games in the crypto industry. Bushnell believes that P2E games are responsible for the negative sentiment towards crypto among “real” gamers. He contends that true gamers do not appreciate the grind associated with P2E games and suggests that Web3 gaming should shift its focus towards creating virtual reality and augmented reality-powered worlds.

    Stoner Cats NFTs Face SEC Charges but Receive Dissenting Support

    The SEC has filed charges against the company responsible for the NFT collection known as Stoner Cats, alleging the offering of unregistered securities. The SEC asserts that the NFTs were marketed with the expectation of potential secondary sales and implied value appreciation.

    However, there is dissent within the SEC regarding this action. SEC commissioners Hester Pierce and Mark Uyeda have issued a dissenting statement, arguing that the project’s activities amount to fan crowdfunding. They contend that fan crowdfunding is a common practice within the creator community and should not be classified as securities violations.
