The only fashionable way to wear a scarf in 2023

Not all trends pass the test of time – only the most spectacular ones come back into fashion (low waist and barbican, whatever you say, they just belong to those). And there are such “hello” from the past that should never return to your closet – and today we’ll talk about one such unreliable purchase.

Do not try to disown this accessory – we know, we know, you had it. And not because we got personal archives, but because every first girl in the nineties wore these “icicle” scarves. Now we would call them “liquid” due to the lack of at least some volume, “flat” material without a beautiful texture and a hint of drapery, often of poor quality fabric. But 15 years ago they seemed so fashionable!..

From Jennifer Aniston to the Olsen sisters, from Paris Hilton to fashionista Kate Moss, the most stylish girls in their time proudly wrapped this scarf around their necks. In Western gloss, it is ironically called skinny – just because of the lack of volume. Indeed, the models made of inexpensive and simple knitwear did not enrich outfits in any way, but after years they began to look ridiculous at all.

And at the same time they (drum roll) are back in fashion again!

And yes, there is a catch in this: out of old memory, you can tie an inexpressive scarf, obtained from the bins of the dressing room, and drastically reduce the cost of your image. Why, then, is the “liquid” accessory worn again by fashion influencers? Take a closer look: they do not choose flat knitted options, but models that are interesting in colors and materials. Bella Hadid, for example, recently went out in a ruffled scarf, fashion blogger Emily Sindlev wears a knitted version, other fashionistas choose colorblock scarves, fluffy, woven, satin.

And this means that skinny scarves are back in trend, but in an improved “modification” – that is, with an unusual, tangible texture in the hands. Beware of knitted “icicles”, they will reduce the cost of the outfit in no time. Otherwise, this is a wonderful and sweet homage to the aesthetics of the 2000s – you can get nostalgic!
