This year, we had several media scandals that shook the region. One of them used to be the one in which some women from public life accused the so-called quacks of ruining their appearance. It was even about burning faces. We asked our interlocutors how important it is to be careful, to find out about people who go for beauty treatment.
It was very strange for us, the experts, to read the inscriptions in the media and look at the photos of the patients who were “deceived”. Honestly, I am surprised considering that today everything can be researched and checked. Every day, in communication with patients and people, we generally appeal about the importance of informing about various treatments, aesthetic procedures, but above all about experts – said Dr. Alemko Cvorak from “Our Little Clinic”.

It is very important for me to know that I or my family are in safe hands. When I say safe, it refers to the education and practice of doctors. I do not support the phrase that everyone does everything because we are neither capable of doing everything nor educated for everything. A person who takes care of himself, his health, then must know who the people he can trust are – Menzilovic told us.
He points out that we are witnessing a lot of quacks and even beauticians, and that medicine has not been in vain for five years.

I have always been interested in expertise and previous work. I love and respect my body very much so that a moment of ecstasy would cost me some deformities. Women with the intention of saving go to someone cheaper for treatment and then problems happen. I feel sorry for the girls who went to crazy facial burns treatments with the goal of some alterations, I honestly would never have thought of that – said Sanjevic.
Improvised operating room
A few weeks ago, the public was shocked to learn that Sava Knezevic, a 23-year-old masseur from Batajnica, and his mother, Danijela, a florist, were arrested for quackery. Sava and his mother Nela operated on people in an improvised operating room in Belgrade, inside a glass terrace. Sava is suspected of mutilating dozens of people by falsely posing as a plastic surgeon.
Also, Olgica Markovic, suspected of quackery, was arrested in Serbia, for which several women reported her, claiming that they were mutilated in her beauty salon.
Among them is Sarajka Naida Gadzo, who previously told “Media”:
I had second-degree burns on my nose and cheeks. It hurt while she was doing it, but I didn’t have a mirror on hand. I know that laser hair removal hurts, when I got up and when I saw scabs, I almost collapsed. She was detained when she tried to cross the border secretly – Gadzo told us.
