The decision has nothing to do with the coronavirus pandemic.
Streaming service Netflix has decided not to continue Altered Carbon for its third season. According to Deadline, the decision was made back in April and has nothing to do with the new coronavirus pandemic.
It is noted that the production of the series was too expensive. In addition, Altered Carbon did not receive the required number of views.
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Richard K. Morgan. He tells about the Earth in the XXVII century, when people learned to transfer their consciousness to other bodies and actually achieved immortality.

Earlier, Netflix decided to close the series “Society” and “I Don’t Like This.” The closure of the series was influenced by uncertainty about production start dates and schedules of involved actors, as well as unexpected budget increases caused by COVID-19.
