Hoodie that becomes moldy after use

The British experimental clothing brand Vollebak has produced a sustainable hoodie from eucalyptus, but the coloring of the material itself is done with pomegranates.

The hoodie is designed with the property that it decomposes in nature and is therefore compostable after use. The design magazine Deezen reports.

“The hoodie is no different from other hoodies, except that it looks like a regular hoodie, it touches like a regular hoodie and lasts like a regular hoodie. The only thing that distinguishes her is that she comes from nature and ends up in nature, “says Steve Tidball, one of the founders of Volleback.

According to Vollebak’s calculations, it takes about 12 weeks for the sweater to be buried in it is buried directly in the ground, otherwise it only takes 8 weeks for it to decompose if it goes through a composting process in a landfill.

Steve says that the main problem with making the sweater was not making the sweater fallible. The main challenge, he says, has been to produce a product that decomposes very quickly in the earth without leaving any residue and that uses as little energy as possible in the production process.

The sweater will be available on Vollbak’s website this September, but people are invited to register immediately on the waiting list.
