Russia will spend 2 billion rubles to create a control center for drones-Okhotnik

The cost of serial drones will be about a billion apiece

Russia will spend more than two billion rubles to create a control center for the S-70 Okhotnik heavy attack drone. This is evidenced by the terms of the tender announced by the Sukhoi aviation company.

“The contractor undertakes, within the time period established by the contract, to carry out an integral part of the development work” Creation of a ground control station NPU-70 “for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation,” – said in the application published on the public procurement website.

According to the document, 2.25 billion rubles are allocated for the implementation of the program. The contractor will have to complete the development and production of the complex, as well as carry out its certification by the end of 2025.

Also, the winner of the tender must take part in the production of the third and fourth “Hunters” in 2022.

In June of this year, it became known that the cost of serial S-70 “Okhotnik” UAVs would leave about a billion rubles apiece. The Sukhoi company reported that the most expensive part of the drone is the airframe: its manufacture costs 600 million rubles. The engine costs another 240 million. Pre-production samples of “Okhotnikov” cost one and a half billion per device, after the start of serial production their price should be reduced by 40-50%.

Russia currently has no operational military attack drones.
