Leonardo DiCaprio, a famous American actor, on his social networks, supported the campaign of the United Environmental Organization from the USA and Europe against the construction of small hydropower plants in BiH and the rescue of rivers in our country. Lejla Kusturica from the Foundation for Social Change confirmed that this campaign started today and that the legendary DiCaprio also gave its support.
He shared a video of the Global Wildlife Conservation on his Facebook and Twitter profiles, calling: “Let the rivers of Bosnia and Herzegovina flow freely!”
Let Bosnia and Herzegovina’s rivers run free! Unless the gov. turns into law a resolution to ban small hydropower projects, 1,000s of km of the country’s wild rivers—& the people & wildlife that depend on them—will be at grave risk. #BiHRunsFree #jaBiHdatecem pic.twitter.com/Vlp3MM52k4

The Foundation for Social Change reminds us that the deadline for the implementation of the Conclusion on the complete ban on the construction of small hydropower plants in FBiH expires today and on that occasion global organizations around the world call on the FBiH Government to protect wild rivers and rare endemic wildlife.
– We are sending an urgent invitation to the Government of FBiH to permanently ban such constructions by amending the Conclusion into a legal solution. 1000 kilometers of wild and untouched rivers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as people and the living world that depends on them, will continue to be seriously endangered – is the appeal that was sent today.
