In honoring her native Russia and family traditions, supermodel Irina Shayk celebrated her 39th birthday. In an Instagram post that brought smiles to everyone who saw it, Shayk unveiled an intricately designed birthday cake that looked like a banya, or a Russian bathhouse.
It was an intricate, multi-leveled work of culinary genius. At the top stood a slender female figure in a bath towel on a steam room shelf. Its bottom tier presented a cornucopia of Russian sweet dishes: glistening potatoes, an actual pickle jar, and herring-all exquisitely edible. Not only did this gesture warm Shayk’s heart but it also emphasised her continuing bond with her roots.
But Shayk’s love of Russian traditions is well-established. She has previously demonstrated her culinary skills, for example by making pelmeni — a favorite Russian dumpling — at midnight. In addition to this, she has spoken about the importance of sharing her culture and plans to raise her daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper on Russian fairy tales and classic Soviet cartoons. The singer was seen out in New York City in a black trench coat with a black dress and boots, accessorized with a statement ring and a Hermes bag. She was also photographed with an extravagant bouquet of pink roses, which were a lovely touch to her special day.
According to Pinkvilla, Shayk who is also a mom to her 7-year-old daughter, Lea, shared the fun facts ahead of her birthday. Even though she has a big job, Wade and Cooper have worked hard to keep their co-parenting experience a positive one so that Lea gets the love and caring from both parents. The model told Cooper is “a full-on, hands-on dad” and that care has “always been a collaboration” when it comes to raising their child.
