On the evening of November 9, the final of the Miss Earth 2024 beauty pageant took place in the Philippines. This is the largest of the Big Four pageants, which include Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International.
According to the terms of the beauty competition, four winners are chosen – queens of the elements. The most honorable title is “Miss Earth”, but “Miss Fire”, “Miss Air” and “Miss Water” are also awarded.
This year, Russia was represented at the competition by 23-year-old Ekaterina Romanova. She is originally from the Kemerovo region, but now lives in St. Petersburg and is involved in modeling.
Last year, the girl became the “Beauty of Russia” and thus received a ticket to the world gathering of beauties. However, she failed to become the queen of the elements. The crown of “Miss Earth” was received by Jessica Lane from Australia. The title of “Miss Air” went to Grafnhildur Haraldsdottir from Iceland, “Miss Water” to Bea Millan-Windorski from the USA, and “Miss Fire” to Niva Antezana from Peru.
The holders of the honorary titles help implement environmental projects and solve global problems throughout the year. The girls participate in clean-up days, conduct educational classes in schools, and promote environmental issues in the media. The current queens will also work for the benefit of the planet.
