Bitcoin surges in price amid US presidential election, reaching over $71,000
“The price was last up more than 5% to $71,178.05, according to Coin Metrics, and is about 3% below its all-time high,”
It is noted that the cryptocurrency will be unstable until the winner of the elections is known, the media writes.
“If Trump wins, I think we'll see new all-time highs. If Harris wins, I expect a decent short-term sell-off and prices will recover in a month or two. But ultimately, either way, I think we'll go higher,” said Ryan Rasmussen, head of research at Bitwise Asset Management.
Previously reported that $3.5 billion worth of bitcoins were mined in Russia in 2023. The Russian Federation took second place in the world in mining this cryptocurrency.
