The Israeli military said Tuesday that Iran had fired more than 100 missiles at Israel, and air raid sirens sounded across the country as residents were ordered to stay close to bomb shelters, amid heightened tensions in the Middle East over Israel’s wars with Hamas and Hezbollah Militia groups.
According to CNN, Israel and the United States had warned earlier that there would be serious consequences if Iran attacked.
“ The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel imminently. We are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel from this attack,” a White House official said on condition of anonymity in the morning.
“A direct military attack by Iran against Israel will have serious consequences for Iran,” he added.
The latest violence escalations come as a result of the Israeli attack on Lebanon to demolish Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militia group that has been terrorizing Israel since the outbreak of fighting between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The attack is six days since the land was attacked by an October 7 onslaught described as the bloodiest day for the Palestinian people since the Holocaust, as a new Holocaust occurs in Palestine.
Three Israeli officials said, according to the New York Times, that the target of the new Iranian attack would be three military air bases, as well as an intelligence headquarters north of Tel Aviv, which was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon.
The warning to Israel about an imminent Iranian attack came from the US government. Iran’s state media did not mention the possibility of an imminent attack.
The Israeli army warned the population on Tuesday that it must evacuate nearly two dozen border communities in Lebanon, hours after announcing “limited ground operations” against the terrorist group Hezbollah. This military offensive once again marked a new boiling point in the region and brought tensions to a new peak in the new conflict in the Middle East, which is now one year old.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said its air defense systems are fully prepared for any attack from Iran, but that no threat has been identified so far.
Israel advised people to evacuate north of the Awali River, some 60 kilometers from the border and well beyond the Litani River, which marks the northern border of a UN- declared zone intended to serve as a buffer between Israel and Hezbollah after their 2006 war.

“They must immediately head north of the Awali River to safety, and leave their homes immediately,” said the statement posted by the Israeli military on Platform X. The warning applied to communities south of the Litani.
