Only those brands that have already created a bag do not dream of creating a popular bag that customers will be ready to pay any amount of money for. After all, as we know, it is bags and shoes that increase the profits of any brand, while clothing, even the most expensive, is still lower in price than accessories. And Rabanne, it seems, decided to enter this game and make a bag that will become an it-bag for the next few years.
It was an accessory that was shown in the brand’s spring-summer 2025 collection. This small bag is made entirely of gold and was handcrafted by Rabanne and jeweler Arthus Bertrand. The jewelry house’s workers created more than 100 gold medallions weighing 18 carats and spent exactly 100 hours creating the bag. Now the thing is valued at 250,000 euros.
It should be said that this bag was a reference to the dress created by Paco Rabanne himself for the French singer Françoise Hardy. In 1968, she went out in a dress made of 1,000 gold tiles and diamonds weighing 300 carats in total and was accompanied by security and a police crew. And in general, silver and gold outfits are the signature touch of the house of Paco Rabanne. The designer was once called “cosmic” for his work with the most unexpected and complex materials – he turned paper, glass, metals, and plastic into clothes and accessories.
However, this bag may not become an it bag, since only that 1% of the planet’s population can afford it. So an accessory that quickly went viral (which is what a fashion house that is lagging behind other players needs) could only be a way to attract the attention of a new generation to the legendary brand.
And yet, there is a chance that the bag will appear on the streets of cities (even if only in New York and Milan) because creative director Julien Dossen created a more democratic version for $950 (88 thousand rubles). This came in handy both for the fashion house, which will gain new clients, and for the clients themselves, because with the bag you can create a stunning evening look, and it is roomy.
