Kendall Jenner reveals her secret to maintaining freshly bleached hair

All eyes are on Paris right now, because Paris Fashion Week has been taking place there since September 23rd. On the very first day, L’Oréal Paris made a statement for empowerment and self-love with its catwalk show Le Défilé on the Place de l’Opéra. Under the motto “Walk your world”, brand ambassadors such as Kendall Jenner, Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, and Andie MacDowell walked the runway in impressive outfits – and of course, beauty looks.

Kendall Jenner talks about her blonde hair, self-esteem and fears

Before the show, Fashion Magazine spoke to model Kendall Jenner. She not only told us her beauty must-haves for her blonde hair but also how she learned to deal with her fears.

What does it mean to you to be part of the L’Oréal Paris family, especially at such a prestigious event as Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris?

    –  Kendall Jenner: It’s so exciting, it means a lot to me to be part of the L’Oréal Paris family, the brand is so uplifting and supportive, it does feel like a little family. There are so many amazing women involved already, so it’s cool to be part of it all.

What are your beauty essentials for Fashion Week?

    –  For me, it’s all about keeping my hair healthy right now as I recently bleached it. L’Oréal Paris has helped me a lot with that. I love their products and treatments and they have this hair oil that I love called “Elvital Oil Magique”. It smells so good and I use it every day because it protects my hair. But I also love the “Panorama Mascara”, I wear it all the time and always have it with me to look fresh.

The blonde hair suits you! How long did it take to dye it?

    –  I don’t know how many hours it took in total. We bleached the hair in ten hours on the first day. But then we kept re-dying it until the color was perfect. So basically it took three days.

And how do you care for your blonde hair?

    –  As I said, I love the Oil Magique and use it all the time. I’ve also done a lot of L’Oréal Paris treatments and love their moisturizing products. For example, a hyaluronic serum, which I used today before blow-drying my hair. It moisturizes and protects the hair, but also gives it a nice volume and a certain fullness. They have great products!

What is the best beauty tip you have ever received from a professional?

    –  For me, it’s not exactly advice. I would say that I’ve learned a lot visually in all the years of having my hair and makeup done. I’ve always watched and figured out what I like and don’t like about myself. A big part of it is just experimenting, and finding out what works for you. No one solution fits all. I’ve learned a lot along the way.

The motto of Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris is “Walk your worth”. Why is this message so encouraging for women all over the world?

    –  I think it’s important to remind ourselves of our worth every day, so I think it says a lot that L’Oréal Paris chose this motto. It’s empowering and I love being a part of it. As I said, it’s a huge honor to even be mentioned in this context. It’s cool and exciting and beautiful. Seeing all the other women on the runway and feeling that power is amazing.

Do you still get nervous before you walk on the catwalk?

    –  Sometimes, yes. It depends on the circumstances. It depends on the catwalk, the show, the outfit. But at a show like today, it’s more relaxed, not quite so serious, a little more casual. You just feel comfortable because it’s a very loving, fun show. Everyone is here to have a good time.

You speak very openly about your fears and your way of dealing with them. How has this shaped your understanding of self-worth and mental health?

    –   I think that has influenced a lot. It’s been a journey for me and I’ve learned a lot over the years. Be it the scientific background of why things happen, or the spiritual background. I love learning about my body, and why I behave or feel a certain way. That has opened so many doors for me. And self-worth is an active process and a daily exercise. I try to get up every morning, look in the mirror, and remind myself of my worth. And of course, that plays a role today too, for sure.

And what message would you like to give to women and girls who struggle with their self-esteem or feel insecure in today’s world?

    –  I think that’s an important topic in today’s world and with social media. It’s important to remind yourself that what you see on the internet is not necessarily reality or the whole story. I think you should remember that we all struggle with problems every day and you are not alone. That’s the most important thing. But it’s also very important to find what works for you, where your limits are, and to recognize your self-worth. Just like the motto of the show “I am Worth It!”. I’ve found that the best way for me to relax and be calm is to put my phone away, turn off social media, and block out the superficial side of the world. Then I can immerse myself in my reality. You should focus on your family, your friends, what’s right in front of you, and the people who love you.
