After the summer months, a very special mood is currently emerging, and as hard as it was to say goodbye to the last few hot days, autumn still has a certain magic about it. It’s no wonder that fashion houses have once again chosen dark red for their current collections this year – after all, it reminds us of the beautiful sides of the new season, such as colorful leaves, coziness and the slow transition into the festive season. Find out how the trendy color Bordeaux is being worn now here.
Trend color Bordeaux red: Comeback in autumn 2024
Last season’s bright red is still a fashion trend , but now the shades are getting darker. Red wine instead of ketchup, so to speak. The dark trend color can be worn from head to toe, as seen on the catwalk at Ferragamo or Gucci, for example. Both labels also used wine red for their accessories and dipped shoes and bags in the trendy shade, among other things. Due to the positive effect of burgundy red alone, there can never be enough of it this season: the color stands for sensuality, pleasure, luxury and calm.
So it’s actually logical that kings have been choosing this dark color for many centuries when it comes to luxurious robes or new covers for their thrones. If you want to use burgundy red in a more targeted way in your outfit and don’t want to wear it as a complete look, you’ll find plenty of inspiration on the catwalks this fall/winter season: Filippa K, for example, showed a beautiful color combination with wine red and light blue , which looks particularly exciting thanks to the mix of a warm and a cold shade.
In addition to classic autumn colours such as beige or brown , which the trend colour goes wonderfully with, it can also harmonise well with other shades of red. A styling idea was provided by the Calcaterra show, where wine red met a light rust red. And in terms of materials, Bordeaux red is also versatile in autumn/winter 2024/25. Leather in this colour looks particularly powerful and is now being worn in the form of boots , jackets and shoes. When the autumn leaves turn red in the next few weeks, you can follow the fashion trend in style.
