Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday called on China and Belarus to promote the quality development of bilateral cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BCR).
During his phone conversation with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Xi also urged the two sides to make solid progress in building the China-Belarus industrial park.
Xi Jinping stressed that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus, bilateral relations have experienced continuous development, adding that in the face of the pandemic, the two countries have conducted close cooperation against the epidemic and that their practical cooperation in various fields has maintained a good dynamic of steady development.
Noting that 2021 was the first year for China to implement its 14th Five-Year Plan, Xi Jinping said that China’s efforts to foster a new development model and promote reform and opening up to a more starting point. the high level would offer more development opportunities and open up a wider area of cooperation for countries all over the world, including Belarus.
He also urged the two countries to strengthen their cooperation in the areas of combating the epidemic, economy, and trade, education, science and technology, culture, as well as exchanges at the level local.
“I believe that as long as the two sides can maintain a spirit of mutual trust and win-win cooperation, the China-Belarus comprehensive strategic partnership will certainly achieve greater development,” said the Chinese head of state.
China supports Belarus in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions, the Chinese president said, hoping Belarus will maintain its political and social stability, and saying China is willing to provide assistance in the process. the measure of its own capacities for the economic and social development of Belarus.
The two countries must continue to support each other, safeguard the common interests of developing countries and uphold international equity and justice, he added.
