In the center of London, on Leicester Square, a monument to Harry Potter has appeared. According to the Wizarding World, the figure of the wizard boy joined the statues of other famous characters who were already here. Among them are Bugs Bunny, Mary Poppins, Paddington, and others.

The monument depicts Potter flying his Nibus 2000 broomstick during a Quidditch match. The statue is located next to the cinema, which premiered Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001.

It is noted that the ceremony of unveiling the monument was held with the observance of social distance, its host was Alex Zane. “Harry Potter has brought so much joy to fans around the world, many, including myself, have grown up with him. It is fantastic that he took the place in Leicester Square, which is rightfully his, ”he said during the ceremony.

In August of this year, the film “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was able to collect a billion dollars at the box office. It succeeded almost 20 years later thanks to the fact that the picture was released in China in 3D and Imax format.
